LONDON : According to a UK leading university, medicines of gout can be treated with blood cancer.
Martin Zedler and his colleagues at the Biomedical Science Department of Sheffield University found that methotrexate MTX could be useful in treating cancer.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has kept this drug in the list of medicines and it is commonly used to treat rheumatism. The research team is expected to go on a full clinical trial early next year.
Research paper has been published in the Journal of Haematologica.
