West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wants to buy that house in London Where Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore was. He wants to transform this house into a museum-cum-monument in memory of Thakur.
Thakur lived in north London number 3 Heath Villas for a few months in 1912. Mamta expressed her desire to buy this house during a meeting with the caretaker high commissioner of India, Dinesh Patnaik, in the UK yesterday.
One source said, “This house has very historical significance and the Chief Minister is keen to change it as a monument of Thakur.” A few years ago, the property cost 27 million pounds. During the visit of Mamta to London in 2015, this house was discussed.Also read :
There is already a blue plaque on this house. It is written that Indian poet Rabindranath Thakur was here.
