IFFI : 'Sexy Durga' and 'Nude' done out, Sujoy Ghosh resigns from Jury chief post

Sujoy Ghosh, the chief of the Jury of Indian Panorama of the 48th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), has resigned from the post after the decision to exclude the movie ‘Sexy Durga‘ and ‘Nude’ from the festival.

It is believed that the 13-member jury under Ghosh’s leadership had included both the films in his nominated list, but these films were excluded from the list given by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Nishikant Kamat, Nikhil Advani, Apurva Asrani, Ruchi Narayan and Jnan Koriya, who have joined the jury, have expressed dissatisfaction over this move of the ministry.

Please tell that ‘Sexy Durga’ will be released in the theaters as ‘S Durga’. This is a Malayalam movie. Its director is Suman Kumar Sasidharan. Right now, ‘Nude’ is a Marathi film directed by national award winner Ravi Jadhav.

Sasidharan’s film was earlier denied to show in jio Mami Mumbai Film Festival. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had argued, “This can affect the law and order because it hurts religious sentiments.” Speaking of frustration, Sasidharan wrote on Facebook on Tuesday, “I am thinking about the unfortunate things happening in my country, this government is being politically capturing all the places of artists in a dictatorial manner. And supports the fundamentalist groups who destroy the freedom of expression. “

Jadhav said that he was surprised to hear the news of ‘Nude’ being taken out, which Juri had suggested to show as the first movie of the film festival. Disappointed director Jadhav said, “Do not go by this name.”

This movie is a touching story of a Nude model that pose for painters.

After the resignation of Sujoy Ghosh, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has said that ‘Nude’ was removed as the film was incomplete.
