Veteran actor Dharmendra believes that nowadays the film industry has become a ‘vegetable market’ and in the present scenario artists are ready to do anything for the money. On the ‘Aaj Tak Agenda’, the actor talked about the current film industry on Friday. The 82-year-old actor said that the world of today’s film is different from his era because today’s artists are ready to do anything for the money.
Dharmendra said, Today this industry has become a ‘vegetable market‘, where you sell vegetables, buy and deal. Today artists are dancing anywhere for money and singing anywhere. They are going there, they are also massaging oil, anything for money, today money is everything, in our time it was not so.
He has worked in more than 300 films in his career. He is known for films such as ‘Phool and Pattar’, ‘Sholay’, ‘Yaadon Ki Baaraat’, ‘My Village My Country’ and ‘Chupke Chupke’. He has worked with many biggies of the film industry, including Nutan, Meena Kumari, Dev Anand, Hema Malini, Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjeev Kumar, Amjad Khan, Jitendra, Jaya Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore, Om Prakash, Rakhi.
Despite having many hits, he never got the Best Actor Filmfare Award. Filmfare gave her an award for Best Talent at the beginning of her career, and then finally gave her second prize of Lifetime Achievement. Do they have any objection about this ?
He said, I went to take the award because I was told that Dilip Kumar would give me the award.
